Live Oak Martial Arts exists to provide an atmosphere for the study, practice, and refinement of the Martial Arts in order to improve the health and character of it's participants and improve the community as a whole; to demonstrate to the individual and the community the benefits of healthful living and non-violence; and to serve the needs of it's members.

Classes

We offer classes for students 3-years-old and up in Tae Kwon Do, a Traditional Martial Art and modern Olympic Sport. Our emphasis is on developing the whole student, equiping them with the mental and physical tools to handle life's difficulties.

Classes are held Monday through Thursday

  • Adult Open Mat :: 3:15 - 4:15pm Tue and Thu
  • Pre-School Taekwondo (ages 3-5) :: Mon and Wed, 3:30 - 4:15pm
  • Beginner Children (white through green belts) :: 4:15 - 5:15pm
  • Advanced Children (all ranks, geared to blue and up) :: 5:15 - 6:15pm
  • Adult and Family Class (all ranks) :: 6:30 - 7:30pm
  • Open Mat :: 7:30 - 8:00pm
  • Jodo :: Mon and Wed 8:00 - 9:00pm

Students may attend as many classes a week as they can make. Advanced students can take beginner classes for extra practice if they desire. Fees.

About the Instructor

Jason Hughes has been practicing Martial Arts for over 20 years, and has been teaching in Athens for over 13 years. He holds black belt ranks in Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do and Shinto Muso Ryu Jo-Jitsu, and has cross-trained in Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Aikido, Tai Chi Chuan, and Hapkido. An active competitor and coach, Mr. Hughes has coached himself to three A.A.U. National Championship titles and has coached several Junior Olympic, A.A.U. State and National gold medalists. Class Fees

Membership fees are $75 a month for the first family member, and $65 a month for each additional family member. There is a yearly membership fee to join the A.A.U. of $12 for youths, $22 for adults. There are no contracts, and you may attend as many classes as you like. More Info
