Submission Grappling at LOMA
We practice submission grappling as it's meant to be: collaborative, technically rigorous, and genuinely fun. Drawing from Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Sambo, and Wrestling, this beginner-to-intermediate class welcomes people who want to explore the full range of grappling—whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or refining skills you've developed elsewhere.
Everyone learns from everyone. New students bring fresh perspective and questions that sharpen the whole group. Competitors refine their edge through drilling and live rolling. There's no hierarchy that gets in the way of real learning—just people committed to getting better together.
You'll spend each class on fundamental and intermediate techniques: takedowns, escapes, positioning, submissions, and the awareness that ties it all together. We drill technically, roll live, and debrief what worked. The pace is challenging but never punishing.
If you're curious about grappling or training for competitions, you'll find people genuinely invested in your progress. We also compete locally, so if you want to test your skills under pressure, you'll have that opportunity. And if you just want to show up, roll, and leave feeling strong—that works too.
